Program Sales
Programs produced by the companies affiliated to the Media Group RTL Germany have met with success and not just among viewers in Germany. Our series and TV movies along with our news and magazine features are very much in demand abroad too.
Produced on commission by RTL Television, these series and TV movies are, for example, licensed in over 60 countries, encompassing virtually every European state including the key markets of France and Italy. In order to further boost program sales abroad, RTL struck an output deal with Telepool in early 2007. This multi-year agreement covers international rights to new productions such as the two Schätzing (Frank Schätzing, German author) film adaptations “Mordshunger” (Ravenous Hunger) and “Die dunkle Seite” (The Dark Side). Also included in this output deal are rights to all existing or continuing productions, such as the RTL series "Alarm für Cobra 11 - Die Autobahnpolizei" (Red Alert for Cobra – The Highway Cops) and "Im Name des Gesetzes" (In the Name of the Law) which have become popular hits on foreign TV markets.
